Workrate visit - from Amsterdam with insights
ElanWave flew out to Amsterdam to visit Workrate, a mission-critical security company operating across Europe. The agenda was a full AI knowledge-sharing session: real tools, live project demos, and an honest conversation about where AI helps and where it still falls short. Here's how the day went.
A great business relationship relies on mutual respect and genuine interest in helping each other. Our relationship with Workrate is something truly unique, more than just a client or a partner. We are establishing a relationship built on shared curiosity and a real desire to see each other succeed. Our recent visit to Amsterdam shows exactly that.
A few weeks ago, our team flew out to Amsterdam to visit Workrate at their headquarters. Workrate is a mission-critical security company that operates across Europe. Data centers, pharmaceutical facilities, ports – anywhere where security can’t afford to fail. We'll follow up with a dedicated blog post, diving into their business and what we're building together.
The AI Workshop
The visit kicked off with a warm welcome from the Workrate team where we finally had a chance to meet them in person, after numerous Teams calls. It was a great moment to shake hands and share thoughts and laughs.
We had scheduled an AI workshop, or knowledge sharing session. The idea was to share our experience with tools that we use, how we can improve business workflows, and tone down bottlenecks. In the first part, we walked them through how we think about AI, from basics to practical workflows and tools our developers and managers use every day.
We presented how AI is already becoming crucial when dealing with massive legacy databases (hundreds of tables, foreign naming, undocumented logic). How tools like Cursor and Windsurf help with the onboarding process. Our CTO, Nikola Spasojevic, talked about strategy, and that AI is a business decision rather than just a perk.
We showed them the progress we made and how AI is integrated into our projects. From a data loss prevention tool with an AI-driven solution to an AI-powered inbound call routing system built on Dynamics 365. We also demonstrated an outbound phone bot that uses GPT-Realtime, capable of holding conversations, qualifying leads, confirming appointments, and triggering CRM workflows.
Learning from Each Other
After our segment, the Workrate team shared their experiences with AI. What they already tested, where they’ve seen value and where they’re still figuring things out. Bob from Workrate had an amazing presentation where he showed us their use cases and how they implemented AI. Security companies have very specific constraints and concerns about data governance and compliance, which made the conversation around AI risks (hallucinations, output validation and data protection) very grounded and deep.
There are still open questions and bottlenecks yet to be solved. We both agreed that AI is an amazing tool, but we currently still need human output and navigation. We kept everything real, without hype or delusional fascination (in both ways). It truly was an exceptional knowledge sharing session.
Workrate After Hours: Good Food, Good Company
Of course, like the great hosts that they are, the Workrate team took us out for dinner. They delivered on that front, too.
This visit was more than a knowledge-sharing exercise. Our relationship has deepened, and the two companies are building a relationship that genuinely helps each other to grow. If you want to learn more about what we are building together, don’t worry, there is more to come.
We can’t wait to host them back in Novi Sad!
Thank you so much Workrate team, see you soon!
